Operations Technician for the Drinking Water Unit

Currently, a major initiative is underway in Trelleborg Municipality as we strengthen our future drinking water supply, including the construction of a completely new water treatment plant. The project is in full swing and is expected to be operational by 2028.

We now need to expand our workforce and are looking for you as an operations technician for our drinking water unit at Kretslopp and Water in Trelleborg Municipality.

Job Responsibilities

In the role of operations technician with us, you will work with the operation and maintenance of our production and distribution facilities such as water treatment plants, pressure boosting stations, and reservoirs. In collaboration with four experienced operations technicians and a process engineer, you will plan and perform operations and maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, sampling, documentation, and quality controls.

In your work, you will conduct water sampling at subscribers and facilities, maintenance planning, and maintenance of the unit's facilities. You will have significant involvement in the unit's various projects. Furthermore, you will contribute to developing and updating risk analyses, self-monitoring, operation journals, operation manuals, and various lists of chemicals and similar items. We also perform urgent water meter replacements for our customers.

You take responsibility for your tasks and can structure your workday effectively. We are looking for someone who excels in collaborating with others, listening, communicating, and contributing to a positive work environment. Since the tasks vary, we believe you are accustomed to working practically with technical solutions and are stimulated by analytical problem-solving rather than process data screens.

On-call duty is included in the position.

Qualifications

Education in water supply, operations/maintenance, pipeline networks, or automation. You may also have experience in the field or from another production industry. For this position, it is required that you have worked with SCADA systems and have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.

A valid driver's license (B) is required.

It is advantageous if you have experience in operations and maintenance within water supply, education/experience in control and regulation technology, or process and manufacturing industries. Experience with electrical installations, programming, or process facilities is also a plus.

Since everything Trelleborg Municipality does is based on our values of openness, respect, and responsibility, it is important and crucial that these values feel as self-evident to you as they are to us in our work.

In the recruitment process, we will place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

We look forward to receiving your application!

Please note that we have removed the personal letter from the application process and replaced it with qualification and selection questions. This is for a more inclusive recruitment process and an efficient candidate experience for you applying for a job with us. Your responses will be an important part of our selection work.
